Hattie’s Dream Foundation is looking for a Volunteer Fundraiser to support Fundraising efforts. The Fundraising Board Member will provide guidance, oversight and support to all major efforts around donor planning, development, management and reporting.
You will:
• Attend all board meetings
• Oversee fundraising database and tracking systems
• Identify fundraising target for the year and suggest donor mix of individuals, corporations, foundations, government and retail to achieve goals.
• Identify potential donor opportunities and suggest action plan for approaching.
• Ensure fundraising goals are met by presenting periodic updates to the board on progress.
You are:
• Passionate about helping youth and their growth
• Entrepreneurial in mindset and goal-oriented
• Positive and collaborative
• Nonjudgmental towards underserved communities
• A “No task is too small” person
• Conducting oneself in external and internal discussions appropriately, including maintaining respectful discussions with and about the youth in under-served communities
You have:
• Experience raising funds for nonprofit or community programming
• At least 1-2 years of sales experience
• Excellent public speaking skills
• Solid budget management skills
• Working knowledge of fundraising databases and systems
• • Familiarity and comfortability working with and in New York City Housing Authority developments
• Experience working with civic associations and/or community organizations a plus
• Experience working with youth, a double plus
Expectations:
• Travel is not required as everything is virtual. However, future events will be in New York City.
• In addition to the above listed activities, you will be expected to attend our events as much as possible.
Compensation:
• This is a volunteer-based position, so there is no compensation or financial requirement at this point in time.
