Secretary

Hattie’s Dream Foundation is looking for a Board Member to support administration efforts. The Secretary Board Member will take notes, record minutes, keep records and non-financial legal documents organized. 

You will: 

• Schedule annual and special board meetings, and create and distribute the agenda. 

•Attend annual virtual board meetings to lead administrative meetings tasks. 

• Take notes and call minutes at all board meetings and submit minutes to the board for amendment or approval.

• Maintain records and non-legal documents, including bylaws, articles of incorporation and minutes. 

You are: 

• Passionate about helping youth and their growth 

• Positive and collaborative

• A “No task is too small” person

• Nonjudgmental towards underserved communities

• Conducting oneself in external and internal discussions appropriately, including maintaining respectful discussions with and about the youth in under-served communities

You have:

• Familiarity and comfortability working with and in New York City Housing Authority developments

• Administrative experience, preferably with a board or organization 

• Successful experience working with civic associations and/or community organizations a plus 

• Experience working with youth, a double plus

Expectations:

• Travel is not required as everything is virtual. However, future events will be in New York City. 

• In addition to the above listed activities, you will be expected to attend our events as much as possible. 

Compensation:

• This position is with a non-profit organization, which is volunteer in nature and non-compensated.
