Hattie’s Dream Foundation is looking for a Board Member to serve as our Treasurer. This Board Member will be responsible for financial reporting and record keeping. Ideally, this person is an accountant or experienced in the finance field.
You will:
•Attend all board meetings
• Maintain financial knowledge of the organization.
• Oversee the organizations finances, policies and financial management.
• Conduct monthly financial reporting and record keeping.
• Create, present, and track the annual budget for the Board’s approval;
• Work with the Fundraising Board Member to ensure fundraising goals are met.
• Ensure the appropriate financial reports, policies and other information necessary for the board are made available to the board on a timely basis.

• Conducting oneself in external and internal discussions appropriately, including maintaining respectful discussions with and about the youth in under-served communities
You have:
• At least 1-2 years of Accounting experience providing financial accounting, treasury management, operations or oversight in either the nonprofit or for-profit sectors.
• Familiarity with Accounting Software, including, but not limited to Quickbooks, Wave, etc.
• Familiarity and comfortability working with and in New York City Housing Authority developments
• Experience working with civic associations and/or community organizations a plus
• Experience working with youth, a double plus
Expectations:
• Travel is not required as everything is virtual. However, future events will be in New York City.
• In addition to the above listed activities, you will be expected to attend our events as much as possible.
Compensation:
• This position is with a non-profit organization, which is volunteer in nature and non-compensated.
